Biography

Stephen M. Resar

AUTHOR, SCREENWRITER

Here's the scoop.

Stephen M. Resar is an American multi-genre writer known for his strong female leads in his screenplays and the scoundrels he invents, the hard-boiled cops, and the femme fatales too. Stephen enjoys writing tough talk and haunting dialog. He’s just like other writers, only more so. For those of you who have the guts to ride along, load your gat, don your trench coat, and join us in the drizzly, treacherous world of Stephen’s fiction, oh, and did we mention the paranormal goings-on.

Stephen was born in Northeast Ohio, right next to Cleveland, which might explain a lot. His education includes a certificate in Feature Film Writing earned with distinction from the University of California Los Angeles, and a diploma in Copywriting also earned with distinction from the College of Media and Publishing Chichester, West Sussex, United Kindom.

Coming 2020

Sam Riker P.I.
The Paranormal
Case Files

I am extremely proud and honored to share my latest page-turner with you. I want  you to know what a joy getting this book ready for release was. It is a mix of things I enjoy and a tip of the hat to some of my favorites. I’m so excited to share it with you, and I hope that you enjoy it.

Growing up Sam Riker didn’t have much; he is certainly not from a wealthy family, and he’s seen enough of the world to know what “too good to be true” looks like. Living in downtown Chicago his entire life he’s a fixture in the city and known to many. Sam’s Chicago is dark, gritty and crime-ridden and competing interests abound and deceit is common. And let’s not forget the crooked politicians too.

Sam is jaded by his years on the job and being a realist; he knows he needs to get his hands dirty from time to time, and he enjoys a reasonable amount of trouble. Known to be hard to get close to, he’s a throwback to an earlier time when detectives were hard-boiled and frequently overindulged in sinful pleasures but still got the job done.
